Lazy summer days.....

Lazy summer days make this gal one lazy artist. Had a visit from my sister recently so the norm in my home slowed down quite a bit - kind of like being on a vacation myself. Preparations and the actual visit made for a lot of down time at the easel. Let's call it a much needed break.....and I'll take that. Generally, summertime activities can slow my art activity down because there are so many things to distract. There's working in the garden, sitting at poolside, going to the beach, visiting new and interesting places or just taking in the abundant sunshine and relaxing. That's what the summertime is all about, right? Yes, it sure is. Take it all in, fill ourselves up with whatever it brings and the end result may actually help the artwork in the end because my feeling is all that summer goodness fills my art up with life and light. So cheers to the lazy days of summer and all the good it brings to our souls.

I squeaked out these small pieces recently to keep the creative juices flowing. Sketching and small pieces can be a good alternative during the lazy days of summer.
